Lasagna Grilled Cheese
8 slices | Italian bread |
½ cup | marinara sauce |
1 cup | ricotta cheese |
1 cup | shredded mozzarella cheese |
½ cup | grated Parmesan cheese |
½ tsp | Italian seasoning |
½ lb | ground beef |
1 tbsp | olive oil |
Salt and pepper, to taste | |
4 tbsp | butter, softened |
Prepare the Ground Beef |
In a skillet over medium heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning, and set aside. |
Prepare the Ricotta Mixture |
In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, Parmesan cheese, and a pinch of Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined. |
Assemble the Sandwiches |
Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. On the unbuttered side of four slices, layer a spoonful of marinara sauce, the ricotta mixture, a portion of cooked ground beef, and shredded mozzarella. Top each with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out. |
Cook the Sandwiches |
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. |
Serve: |
Slice each sandwich in half and serve hot with extra marinara sauce for dipping. |
