LIZZIE'S GINGERBREAD
16 oz Plain flour
8 oz Margarine
8 oz Soft brown sugar
2 lvl dsp Ginger
3 lvl tsp Cinnamon
8 oz Treacle or (syrup / black mixed)
2 medium Eggs
½ pint Milk
2 lvl tsp Bicarbonate of soda

 

Mix flour and spices.
Melt marg, sugar and syrup. Add to the dry ingredients.
Mix in the eggs.
Warm the milk and add bicarbonate.
Mix together well.
Cook at 140°C for 1 - 1½ hours. Cover the top with grease-proof paper for the last ½ hour.
